Valentine's Day

Details: Red & White Polka Dot Blouse (Linked a Gorgeous Solid Red Blouse on Sale!) ||| White Lace Cardigan (Linked a Beautiful Kimono on Sale!) ||| Black Denim (I am in love with the fit, I linked the exact pair!) ||| Blush Pointed Toe Heels (Linked a similar pair from DSW, I am obsessed with that site!) ||| Tory Burch Aviators  (Linked a similar pair)

It's almost Valentine's Day and I am so in love with all the reds and blush tones. I couldn't decide which tone to stick with, so I decided to mix them! I added a little lace for that touch of sexiness. I love combining different patterns and materials to bring some attention to an outfit. It is definitely eye catching!

I pinned my hair into a messy low Up-Do, I wore a similar look on the day of my wedding and wearing this hair style always takes me back to the day Cody and I made out commitment to God, and became Mr & Mrs. Cody Glass.

Red tones are such a bold statement. Something about a women in red just screams confidence! I love seeing women wearing red either on their lips or in their attire. I instantly think she's got her life together.. I paired my blouse with the most perfect Red Lip; Urban Decay's Spiderweb (It's on sale!!).

So of course, I want to look and feel great for my Hubby. Black denim gives my legs a slimming appearance and really boost my confidence! These pair I picked up from the recent Nordstrom Sale, and I am totally obsessed! They have the most perfect fit, and I love the cropped ankles. Perfect to pair with heels.

I love these blush tone heels, the color is subtle and looks almost nude. They elongate my legs and add a little height to this 5'4" girl. My hubby is over 6' tall. He loves me in heels! These are a 2 1/2" heel so they are so easy to walk in and I love the pointed toe on these babies.

This will be Cody and I's 10th Valentines Day together. We are treating ourself to a dinner out and enjoying the evening together. We will enjoy a nice bottle of wine and cozy up by our fireplace late in the evening.

You could totally wear this for a Galentine's Day date too! I am hosting a Galentine's Day brunch and am planning to wear a similar outfit.

I hope you guys all enjoyed this post! Enjoy this month with all of your loved ones!

Comfy & Casual Date Night In Outfit

Details: Leggings (Size M & Under $30) |||  Slouchy Top (Same Brand & Similar Style) ||| Bralette (No Support, but I am obsessed with it!) ||| & Wifey Mug

With Valentines Day just around the corner, I wanted to share one of my favorite "Date Night In" outfits. My Hubby & I love to cook dinners together so we often eat in! We plan 3 new pinterest meals a week (a bit excessive I know). It keeps our meal times exciting.

Yes, Cody and I are newly weds, but we have been together for over 9 years. I still like to dress cute, even if we are just lounging around the house. Feeling pretty really helps me feel confident, though Cody could care less if I wear makeup.

I love a slouchy off the shoulder top. This one is absolutely perfect! It has an asymmetrical cut, I linked a similar one from the same company. The material is so soft; it feels like pajamas!

The lace details of this bralette are noteworthy! It comes in 3 shades; black, grey, and white. Now I want to own all 3. WARNING: if you are larger busted, skip this bralette. It provides absolutely no support. I am not busty whatsoever, so this is perfect!

Even prior to getting married, I obsessed over everything "Wifey" and still do. ILY Couture is my go to for the most adorable "wifey" attire. I own their classic "Wifey" Sweatshirt and T-shirt. SO CUTE!

So glad I could share this super cozy date night in outfit.

Winter Cozies: Fur Vest & Chunky Sweater

Details: Faux Fur Vest: Similar to Sole Society,  Chunky Knit Sweater: Similar to Asos, Denim: Similar to Express, Booties: Similar to Sole Society.

I have to admit, If you have been following my blog for the last 2 years, you have seen these pieces before! I love buying basic pieces and creating them into new outfits to switch up my style.

I am not the girl who goes out to buy the most trendy fashion items. I love splurging on classic pieces that I can wear year after year. Take for instance this vest; not outrageous, but it wasn't the most affordable. I have had this faux fur vest for over 4 years now, and it still looks as good as the day I bought it. I listed a similar vest on sale!

Chunky Knit Sweaters like this one I am wearing, is the "adult" way of wearing an oversized hoodie. It is more socially acceptable. The cow-neck detail adds so much warmth! It was bitter cold when I shot these photos and this sweater was a life savor.

Throw on a pair of cropped denim jeans (aka ankle gazers) or cuff the bottom and add some cute booties and you have the perfect winter look.

The small block heel adds a little height and elongates my legs. I have always been a curvier girl. Heeled booties are a life savor for my shorter legs!

I hope you guys all enjoyed this Cozy Winter Look.

Farmhouse Shabby Chic Laundry Room Renovation

Welcome Back to my Blog!
Today's post is so exciting and totally different. HOME RENOVATION PROJECT!? Cody and I have so many projects planned for our home. We moved into our home September of 2016, and since then we have been doing so much to our home. We started with doing a DIY Back Splash in our kitchen, (total Success.. I no longer have before photos or I would post them..) we had a patio and fire pit installed in our backyard, we also had a fence installed, and are currently finishing our basement!

Future Plans include: (Obviously finished the basement and DECORATING!) Possibly Baby Room Projects/Makeovers, Pantry Makeover, Installing Built-in Bar/Office area in our kitchen, and possibly some bathroom upgrades!

As for today's post: DIY Laundry Room Makeover

Of course I thank Joanna Gaines for making shiplap famous! I, like most people, am so obsessed. I wasn't sure how it would turn out so the Laundry room was a trial run.

How Cute is this Sign?! So this is one that is based off of the one from Magnolia Market Shop Online. I loved it, but wanted it in white. I started searching around Etsy and Found this one: Teal Barn Signs. (It comes in multiple shades and I love the framing!)
I was so impressed with the company. The sign came packaged beautifully and the quality is incredible!

Before installing the shiplap and shelving there was just a wire shelf and rack.. pretty basic!

So what we used for the shiplap was something called Tongue and Groove. We bought an unfinished pine material. (This made the ship lap appearance without having to use spacers to space out the wood. I will be honest I do think I would use plywood it is way easier to cut and customize because the plywood doesn't need to lock in.) The Tongue and groove does have its perks though:
  • You DO NOT need to paint the back wall! you can pain the spacing between the boards making it so easy!
  • No Spacers. This saves so much time.. the boards just click into each other like a puzzle. SO SIMPLE.
  • The Tongue and Groove we bough has 2 different sides. You can do a larger or smaller sized shiplap. (If you look closely, we realized this after the wall was intact. One of the boards is reversed. OOPS!)
As for the Color I used to paint the Shiplap (AKA Tongue and Groove).. Sherwin Williams Alabaster was the perfect color!

..for the shelving we bought pine lumbar and added in a giant folding area on top of the washer and drier along with 2 shelves. We used Oxford Brown Stain. We only did one thin layer of the stain in a semi transparent and finished it with a coat of polyurethane to protect the shelving.

Baskets: Target

We bought the black metal hardware for the shelves from our local Ace Hardware. These are way over priced online. In store they are under $10 each.

And for the rod that is holding our hangers..
my husband bought galvanized piping that was pre cut to the size I wanted. He primed and spray painted the piping black and it was perfect!

Okay the wall color.. I struggled to get our entire house color matched. This color was suppose to match but it was a fail (No one can match it...). I tried to find something similar and Benjamin Moore Balboa Mist is similar.

Ironing Board: Target

I think I covered almost all of the details! If you have any questions leave a comment down below! I am loving these home renovation projects.

More renovation updates coming soon!

Layering with an Anorak Jacket

Details: Jacket Similar to: (Nordstrom's), Maroon Hoodie Similar to (Nordstrom's), Distressed Denim Similar to: (Francesca's), & Booties Similar to (Nordstrom's)

One of my favorite pieces I picked up this fall was my anorak style jacket. This style jacket has been around for years, it's a classic that never goes out of style. I linked one similar that I found at nordstrom's and it's on sale! (Literally my entire outfit is from Francesca's, if you check your local one they may have these pieces in stock!)

My lifestyle is so hectic. If I am not wearing scrubs (For my mammography/x-ray career) or all black(as a makeup artist) , I typically prefer to be as comfortable as possible!

When I saw this feminine style hoodie, I was obsessed! I linked one similar that I found at Nordstrom, but it's almost double the price! I highly recommend looking at your local Francesca's to see if you can find it on the racks there. I love the high low cut and the maroon color is perfection. I did size up to a large for a more oversized look..

I am the pickiest person when it comes to my denim! I struggle finding affordable jeans that are comfortable. Francesca's Jeans are incredible and so affordable. They often run the promotion B1G1 1/2 off.. Can't beat it!

I love the trendy distressed denim, especially around the ankles! The distressed around the ankles is a newer trend and I'm obsessed. Does distressed denim scream high school? My hubby thinks so, but I can't get enough of it! What do you guys think?

Hello cute booties..

..finding ankle booties that don't draw too much attention to my thicker thighs is difficult. These are a dream! I recommend sizing down with these types of booties. They have a flared loose feel to them, and can look bulky if they are too large.
My local Francesca's had them in black and I am debating on picking them up! These are my newest favorite pair of shoes.. It's like slipping on a pair of sneakers, but a bit more dressy!

Next Post I am sharing a easy Holiday look that is so simple! (I will also share some details on my favorite Red Lip Look.)

Love Always,

"Farm House" Christmas Decor

Christmas came early in the Glass house! I am so thankful to have a hubby who gets as excited about Christmas as I do. (He even baked Gingerbread Cookies the day we decorated!)

So every year I post details of our Christmas Decor and I get SO MANY questions about my decor. I was thrilled to post this blog!

This truly is the most wonderful time of the year!

Tree Details: Christmas Tree Faux Virginia Pine (Target), Tin Tree Skirt (Crate & Barrel), Star (Crate & Barrel), Tin Train (Similar to Hayneedle)

As for the tin sign, mercury glass ornaments and tin feathers they are from my FAVORITE decor store: Cocalico Creek Country Store. They only have 2 locations, but they ship to you! You can call their store and ask for the similar pieces and they can ship it to you. 1 (717) 490-6599. (If you are somewhat local I recommend making a trip to their locations, and plan on spending a ton! My husband and I try to go every other month and always leave with a car filled with their unique pieces!)

If you click the home tab at the top of my blog you can see my every day decor that I purchased from Cocalico Creek. By far my absolute favorite store of all time!

For years I have hunted this tin train down! Every year I can find a similar train at my local Homegoods. Check their often and grab it when you see it! It's one of my favorite decor pieces. I always wanted a little train to wrap around our christmas tree, but could never find the perfect one until I saw this one!

Okay, so I have to be honest. Cody, my hubby, gets all the credit for the ornaments. Our first year in the home he said to me, "I really want a themed tree." He is responsible for finding our mercury glass ornaments and the new leaf ornaments we bought this year (Cocalico Creek Country Store still carries these ornaments. They were in store recently when we were shopping there.)

When we have children we will do a second tree to display all our Hallmark ornaments. For now we love our classy themed tree!

I have no idea where I bought these pinecones from, but they would be super easy and cheap to make! Pinecones, Glue, and some glitter! Easy Christmas DIY project that could also be fun for children too!

I still can't get over this star! It retails for less than $20 at Crate & Barrel. Usually the store is super pricey but this is such a steel! (I will say that it was the biggest struggle getting it to stay on the tree and straight!)

Fireplace Details: Letters to Santa Mailbox (Target) & Stocking Holders (Kohl's)

As for my mantle, I just used some affordable greens from Micheal's Craft Store. They always run sales and coupons! I used the same type of greenery for my stair railings and for our outside decor.

So, I think we all have been hearing/talking about the new Hearth  & Hand Line from Chip & Joanna Gaines that has launched at Target! I am so impressed with the line. I picked up the "Letters to Santa" Mail box. It comes in both Red and Green.

The stockings are another new purchase from Cocalico Creek Country store this year! they have a silver tinsel woven into the stockings.

The stockings I have hung on the railing up the steps are a few years old from Homegoods. (Which is also another favorite place to get home decor! I get all my christmas wrapping paper from Homegoods!)

There was so much to cover in this blog post, and I didn't even share all my Christmas home decor! Check out my main channel or my vlog channel to see a Christmas Edition Home tour or extra footage of our house!

Merry Christmas,
